“Turn your anger into compost for your garden” is a quote taken from a conversation between author bell hooks and buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh. This quote resonated with me as a person of color living in this country, during such tumultuous times. I wove it out of a need to do something with the anger I’ve been holding onto, transforming trauma into beauty — compost for my garden.
